Clarksville Bridge Update

Clarksville Road (CR 638) over Amtrak 

• The designer and the County have been in communication regarding the traffic signals. Revisions were requested by the designer and are under review. Once finalized and approved, NJDOT’s Government and Community Relations team will reach out to the Township and County for recommendations and approvals.

• The utility company continues to work with Amtrak to arrange an on-site meeting to resolve the fiber optic line concerns.

• With the support of Amtrak, the contractor has taken measurements needed to continue fabrication work.

• A crew has continued field fabrication of the steel on site as progress continues.

• The Site-Specific Safety Work Plan (SSSWP) has been completed and submitted to Amtrak for review. Amtrak is actively reviewing the plan and providing comments as part of the project coordination process.

• NJDOT and Amtrak continue to coordinate closely on the project. This week, Amtrak supported contractor access to obtain additional field measurements and is scheduled to support the contractor during deck and deck joint repairs the week of July 13, 2026.

• The contractor continues with on-site steel fabrication, with approximately 35% of the stringer fabrication completed. The hi-rail equipment has successfully passed Amtrak's inspection and is on site, ready for use once work is authorized.
